Diploma in Medical laboratory technicians assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing tests on tissue, blood and other body fluids. Medical lab technicians most commonly work in hospitals or doctor's offices. This career field typically requires at least a certification.

Job Description

DMLT holders play an important role in the prevention and diagnosis of diseases, such as cancer, diabetes and AIDS. Medical lab technicians work under the supervision of a physician, lab manager or medical technologist and perform laboratory tests on specimens. The tests that lab techs conduct assist doctors in verifying the causes of an illness, making medical decisions and determining treatment options.

Work Environment

Most DMLT holders can be found working in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories or physicians offices. Other employment options for medical lab technicians are available with blood and organ banks, medical equipment sales companies, research facilities, clinics, and public health organizations, as well as pharmaceutical and reference laboratories. Their workplaces are clean, sanitized and well lit. They must wear protective clothing including lab coats, masks, goggles, and gloves when handling equipment or specimens. They can work odd shifts throughout the day and be on call in case of emergency.

Job Duties

Medical lab technicians set up and sanitize laboratories, prepare specimens, match blood compatibility for transfusions, analyze fluid chemical content, collect blood samples and examine immune system elements. Technicians are expected to handle sophisticated laboratory equipment, including cell counters, microscopes and automated analyzers. These devices are used to search for parasites, bacteria and other microorganisms.

Since registration number given to you by BSS will not be accepted at CMO office, you will be required to hire a Medical Lab Technician whoes Diploma is registered with UP Medical Faculty.

Q: Can i Open any other type of Lab?

A : You can open Pathology laboratory Collection Centre with renowned companies and deliver all shorts of test results as performed by Parent companies.

Q: With BSS Diploma will I be eligible to apply for samvida jobs?

A : Samvida jobs may have their own specific requirements which may or may not make you eligible for samvida jobs. Many of our students are currently working under Samvida at various organizations like NCR Hospital, etc. Some examples of requirements where you may not be eligible include registration with UP medical faculty or Diploma from a UGC approved college.

Q: Will I be Eligible to apply for jobs in private hospitals and private labs?

A : Yes

Q: Is RCIPMS approved by UGC?

A : RCIPMS offers only vocational courses so currently it doesnt come under the ambit of UGC. But RCIPMS is industrial training partner of UGC approved Capital University

Q: Can i apply for government jobs with BSS diploma?

A : No.

Q: Can i apply for government jobs with Capital Univeristy Diploma or Degree?

A : You can apply only where UGC approved degree diploma is accepted. Some employment opportunities may additionally require registration with UP State Medical Faculty. You will not be able to apply for those vacancie.

Patient care assistants work in health care environments or provide home care services, generally under the supervision of a registered nurse. They help provide basic, direct care to patients, such as assisting with daily life activities, helping with transportation and helping patients maintain their cleanliness. A high school diploma or the equivalent is generally the only requirement to begin working in this rapidly growing field, with other training coming through supervised on-the-job experience.

Education Requirements

Many vocational schools and community colleges offer patient care assistant training through nurse technician, patient care technician or personal care assistant/technician programs.

These programs focus on preparing graduates to work in homes, hospitals, general surgery units and nursing homes. Training generally includes lab work, lectures and clinical rotations, as well as studies in pre- and post-operative care, anatomy, nutrition and physiology. Job Description

Vision Technician performs administrative and certain clinical duties. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records and clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and dispensing ophthalmic prescription.
